I'd like to update you on what's been happening in my life. I also can't believe it has been 50 years since we graduated!
After high school I got my degree from UH Manoa and did some graduate work in social work. I met my wife when we both worked at Salvation Army's Residential Treatment Program for Adolescents, and we have been married for 33 years.
I worked for Hawaiian Tel for 10 years while we started our family and she continued her education to get a Master's in Social Work. I also got into glass blowing and ceramics at UH - gave up glass after too many burns, but have stuck with ceramics and still enjoy throwing on the wheel.
After I paid my dues at Hawaiian Tel, I left to pursue my interest in plants and got into the University to eventually get into the plant nursery. We raised two sons and my wife went back to school again for her doctorate to become a psychologist. Life was hard during those years, but we were happy and enjoyed our family life.
Now, both boys are on their own and it's back to the two of us again. My wife retired early from her state job this year and is enjoying just doing her private practice part time. I will be retiring this year too, and we hope to get started on our bucket list.
Please give my regards to everyone who remembers me.
