I graduated from UCLA in 1970 with a B.A. in Social Sciences for Elementary Teaching, then attended the UH to get my 5th Year Teaching Certificate. Taught for the DOE for the next 32 years at Nanaikapono and Pearl City Elementary Schools, mainly in first, second, and third grades. Retired from the DOE in 2003 to become a caregiver for my parents.
On a personal level, I married my husband, Abe Kealoha, in 1973. Imagine, 43 years of marriage! Moved to Mililani in 1975 and have lived there since. We have two daughters and four grandchildren who bring us much joy. I am currently a caregiver for my 96-year-old father. This keeps me pretty busy, however when we have time, Abe and I enjoy traveling all over the world or to Seattle to visit our granddaughters. My interests include playing golf, ballroom dancing, and working out at 24-Hour Fitness (especially Zumba, yoga, and step classes).
Hope this isn't too long. After all, 50 years is a long time to catch up on!
